Accessible health care means the right service at the right time for the right cost. We are over the moon that our Yoga for Pain Down South initiative has led to 162 subsidised pain care yoga places for people on low incomes in 2019.
Thanks to GP down south and WAPHA the aim is to make yoga available to those who normally couldn’t access it, which means there are criteria:
- People aged 16 years+ and living in the GP down south chronic disease service delivery area (towns of Harvey and Collie, Margaret River, Cowaramup and Augusta)
- People who are socio-economically disadvantaged and who would have difficulty accessing pain care yoga if not offered at a subsidised rate.
- People living with chronic pain (pain lasting a minimum of three months) associated with a musculoskeletal condition. This could include: osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and back problems.
If you meet the above criteria and would like to access pain care yoga, contact Nicola Hilyard of GP down south on 9754 3362 or email [email protected]
